The Horns Inn or `th`orns `as it was locally known was closed in 2006 to make room for housing development.
The Horns became a community pub through out its long-standing and thrived teams from Darts ,Dominoes,Football and Rugby League in its heyday.
The Horns was a very Popular site for community Gatherings for Family Fun Days and Bonfire/Halloween Parties in the Large Beer Garden to the rear of the premises.
Many a good time was remembered at the Horns Inn.
Within my youth i remember the Landlord ..`Arthur Parkinson` from the days when i was 18 of course..i also remember a many number of regulars who idled their time at the pub and tested their skills at darts..pool..and even Karaoke throughout the years and remember many a good time there.
The Horns became a popular meeting point in the 80`s and Became recognised as one of the bussiest pubs in the area and remained so until they finaly closed the doors.
Odd enough as though it sounds....one of the Horns Inn`s Last Landlord/Landlady was actually David and Beverley Horn.....
