Soup Dragon left this review about Sir Robert Peel

A detached cottage-styled pub with extensions, in cream render and red paint work, with rear patio area.

The interior has three rooms, with the serving bar in the bar room, though it also has access in the entrance corridor to serve the snug and dart room. To the left on entry is the bar room. It is in white walls and ceiling, with ceiling and suppot beams and a wood floor. There is a small fireplace, with red fake tiles around it and the walls have Punch cartoons and other early 'police/peelers' memorabilia, as well as a few brasses. There is a TV mounted on the wall, that sadly, always seems to show a soap. To the right on entry is a little 'snug'. It is in Dark red patterned wallpaper with white and beam ceiling and wood floor, with a fireplace and wall mirrors. Around the corner is the back room, which has a dart board in it - it is in a crimson and white, with wood floor - and also had a TV (not on). The service is fine and the clientele friendly and mixed (including the footy team on one visit). There was no music.

Beer; tap stuff with Banks's MILD on keg. On handpull there was; Banks's Bitter, Cumberland Ale, Pardoe's Entire and a very good Holden's Golden Glow.

A really good solid pub in my opinion - good beer choice and well kept in a friendly environment - definately worth popping in, especially as the Britannia is near next door and that is worth a look as well.
