This used to be a fairly standard Banks's pub when it was The Ashley. It has had a Wetherspoons like makeover. 3 ales when I called - Hobgoblin Gold, Marstons Christmas Everyday IPA and Cheadle Citra. The Citra wasn't ready but the other 2 were fine. Worth popping in.

This pub has been fully referbed and is now called WINDMILLS END. Its a lot like a Wetherspoons Pub, Very cheap but better because Don't allow anyone under the age of 18 at any time, not even in the beer garden.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Ashley

A detached undressed brick pub and eatery, which has The Ashley Hotel on it's menus.

The interior has several rooms. You walk into a bar area, which has a serving bar and is in a red, cream and green decor and there is a side room, laid out for food, which is in white and mustard. Both of these rooms have landscapey prints on the walls. Off again to the side is a long, narrow room, with 'bar' on the door, which has a pool table in it. It seemed to be in red, white and a coffee colour when i passed briefly through it, to find some service. Adjacent, is another long, narrow room, which is like a lounge, with a separate serving bar and several sofas. The clientele was two other guys and the service was, well, when it arrived, somewhat bizarre in the way the several of them tried to work out the price, whether the MILD was on or off and the finer aspects of pouring the said drink. You felt is was like the first day they had opened the doors to the public - all over the place, but certainly not without humour. We didn't eat, so i can't comment on that.

Beer; tap stuff with Banks MILD and Bitter handpulls; the bitter turned out to not be on and we hoped the MILD wasn't either, but it was, but saying that, after pouring off the initial spluttering foam, it tasted fine.

Chaos - i expected a Spanish waiter to turn up and be clipped around the ear.
