This is an end terrace Marston's pub, with patio area. The pub was originally one of a couple of buildings in a place called 'Halfway' in the late Victorian period. It may have been altered/rebuilt around 1900. There is a cottage-style pub at heart, with three upper sash windows and two lower bay windows that flanked the original entrance (now blocked). The pub is in cream render, with a modern brick low-level extension. The interior has a couple of rooms. The lounge is at the back, with the bar at the front. We went into the bar, to play darts. The room is in red and white, with perimeter seating. The TV wasn't on and there was no music. A few trophies and prints on the walls were of interest and there is a nice fireplace. A pump clip collecton is exhibited behind the bar. The service was really friendly and a few locals were in. Beer; usual tap stuff with Oyster Stout and Banks's MILD, Bitter and a decent Ringwood 49er on handpull. A nice tidy pub, I really enjoyed my stop-off here - i would more than happily return.
