Soup Dragon left this review about Mount Pleasant Inn

This is a detached pub and eatery, with patio area. Mount Pleasant was in fact a small hamlet, once quite separate from Kingswinford, with its own school, chapel and, of course, pub. The pub is Victorian and in cream render, with black paintwork. It is a cottage-style pub, with two bay windows flanking a now blocked entrance. There is a dog-tooth cornice. The pub extends to the side and back. The pub has two rooms that form an L-shape to the pub. The front room was deserted; it is modern, being in red, white and mixed wallpaperss, with comfy chairs - but also has sport pictures and a dart board - saying that, I only had a brief glance. As nobody was coming to serve us, we went to the lounge room, which is in fact a dining room for the carvery that was out. We got served and went out to the patio. There was no music and the TV wasn't on. The service was fine and the few people in were either eating in the back room, or out on the patio area. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's MILD, Bitter, Wychwood Thrasher, Marston's EPA and a decent enough, but not to my taste Banks's Black Diamond on handpull. The most pleasing thing for me is the exterior, although there was a good choice of real ale on. Happy i popped in, but a little too modern and foody for my personal taste.

Friendly local, Marstons beers (formerly Banks's). New extention to refurbed lounge is nice. Now serving food (carvery) in lounge.
Re-opened with new landlord after a brief (& unexpected) closure. Lounge still mainly food, but the bar has been nicely refurbed and there are some beers on handpull.

Tried a visit(only two others in lounge) but left thirsty as no guest ale available. Disappointing.
