Another BCA pub situated in a place we didn’t expect to see one – quite a quiet area. Immaculately clean inside with a fire on the go which was gratefully received on a chilly day. ‘Modern traditional’ style with seating being almost all cloth banquettes though it was a bit bland overall. Dart board. Beer of the weekend was served-up here, a perfect Banks Mild (NBSS 5) by a cloth-eared barmaid who was good value once she’d warmed-up a bit. Can’t say I loved it but the beer quality speaks for itself.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Whitley

Fine real ale pub, given the usual Black Country Ales treatment in the three main seating areas in an overall, partly opened-out, reversed J-shaped layout. Looks and feels like a proper community local on a Tuesday evening, with a darts match going on and plenty of good-natured chatter. From a total of 11 handpumps, I found three of the brewery's own beers, five guest ales - including Lizzie from the nearby Fixed Wheel (£3.65) - and a pair of ciders.

Yet another excellent Black Country Ales pub with a great selection of ales on offer. We went for Green Duck King Henry and Salopian Lemon Dream. Both were excellent. Add this to the Waggon, The Hawne and The Edward and you have a really good quartet of pubs with a wide selection of ales - and cobs!

As mentioned below this is another excellent Black Country Ales pub with two bars one on the left and one on the right. I went in the right bar which was a long narrow carpeted room that was empty on an early Saturday afternoon. There was a TV showing a football match at the end but it wasn't too intrusive. The serving area separates the two bars and I imagine that the busier bar across it has a similar layout.
There were three hand pumps in the bar I was in which had (unusually for a BCA pub) Banks's Mild and the two BCA beers BFG & Fireside. Other beers were Goddard's Starboard, Wincle Wibbly Wallaby and Derventio Winter King. I went for the Wibbly Wallaby (£3.00) and Winter King (£3.20) both of which were in excellent condition.
This may not be a "beer festival" BCA pub but the quality of the beer makes up for the lack of quantity. It's well worth a visit.

Another splendid Black Country pub and well worth a visit. The main bar and lounge is on the left, with a smaller lounge area on the right with servery. There were a good few locals in the main lounge on our visit and we were made most welcome and soon joined in the banter. This is a very well kept pub, serving great beer. Black Country Pig on the Wall was my choice.

very clean hotel style decor, nice local people in there (although only about a dozen), lager very expensive at £3.10 Carling .... good selection of real ales on offer and good service by polite friendly staff ... too late, unfortunately to try the grub out but no doubt it would have been absolutely bostin' our kid .... pub is located in the area of much magic!

Enjoyed my first visit to this new Black Country Ales pub with a great selection of real ales kept up to date on a board showing all the information including style of beers. Comfortably furnished two rooms, and friendly staff. Also serve fod.
