Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion

A nice little cottage style detached brick build with central entrance.

The interior has two rooms, the one room being closed when we visited on Sunday night. The bar has an extension with a dart board and pool table. The decor is white, with fake black beams and a nice moulded ceiling. There are a nice and unique set of drawings of dogs, with lots of brass ephemera. There was a TV, which felt like it should be playing Eastenders. The seats were ripped and taped, there were a lot of cracked floor tiles - the place looked tired. Service was fine, the clientele awaiting Eastenders.

Beer; tap stuff with a decent enough Banks's Cask MILD and an untried Bitter on electric pump

Not enough to make me want to come back, it's funny how the Banks's pubs in Gornal are generally the least impressive
