Soup Dragon left this review about The Railway Tavern

An end terraced Victorian pub that survived the remodelling of the area in the 50/60s. The railway is situated behind, hence the name. The pub itself is a typical cottage style, with three upper windows and two lower bays flanking the central door. It is in cream render. The interior has an L-shaped room, which is in cream artex, with a chocolate upper wall and ceiling, as well as a red patterned carpet. There is a tiled fireplace and a couple of photos and mirrors on the walls, but it is a little plain. There is a dart board and a pool table in the back - although this had a buffet spread on it and a music system was out, so I assume some function was planned for later. The service was fine, but the small clientele were clearly local and, too be honest, left me feeling a little uncomfortable. Beer, no real ale, no keg MILD, just the basics, so I had a half of Thatcher's Cider for a change. One for the locals.
