Called in yesterday evening after aborting visits to the Hop Pole and Blue Bell. There was mention on the sign of craft beer so figured this would be a good fallback if there was nothing decent on cask. Sadly there was no sign of this craft beer which left a choice of Rev James and Bombardier Glorious English on cask. A further pump was unclipped. I had the Rev James which was warm and, frankly, a bit grim. Nothing to rush back here for.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Feathers

The appeal of a particularly finely featured façade doesn't extend inside, unfortunately, where you find a standard-issue modernised town pub with almost all character extinguished. The bar itself is located up a couple of steps from the front seating area, and tapers slightly towards the back. A few early Halloween decorations were up, but otherwise little else to note. Beer-wise, Hobgoblin and Pedigree New World (remarkably priced at just £1.50, and in surprisingly good form) were available from two of three handpumps.

This place didn't sell real ale when I visited earlier in the year but apparently it does now. However it was crap then and unless its been done up it'll need more than real ale to get me back in.

Compared to the other pubs in this part of town on Saturday night last week the Feathers was very quiet. I’m not sure why because this place is very much like its peers with loud thumping music and numerous plasma screens that can be watched whilst supping on standard draught products.
Food is available during the day and there are various meal deals which one would expect in this sort of high street pub.

The service was polite enough, but I wasn’t very impressed and would walk past if in the area again.
