Soup Dragon left this review about The Hope Tavern

A nice Edwardian looking corner pub with side patio area. The pub is in undressed, white and cream brick, with a corner entrance, some decorative moulding and a nice painted brick pub name.

The interior is an open plan room, with the bar facing you on entry. It is modernish, in coffee, cream, cream, textured wallpaper, white ceiling and patterned carpet, with a raised area in the corner. There are blinds on the windows and modern seating. There is a dart board, large pull down screen, with a couple of TVs; one showing a soap, the other football. The service was OK and the clientele was mixed and it was busy. There was general music played at a decent level.

Beer; usual tap stuff with a decent enough Ansell's MILD and Envilla Ale on handpull.

The modern look isn't really to my taste, but there is a real ale choice and a different MILD compared to what is around locally. Worth a pop in for one
