I am one of the owners of The Waggon. This review is to confirm the pub has now re-opened and will be establishing itself as a great Black Country pub. Run by Ostlers Alehouses Ltd as an Urban Ale Venue. The Waggon has 8 handpulls, Sky & BT Sports, live music Friday and Saturday, Free Wifi and a great Garden with outside bar. Food will be available shortly and Beer and Food Festivals are to feature. The building has retained it's handsome charm outside with very little change, although the inside has had substantial work carried out the original feel of the place is still evident. The Waggon was in need of a facelift and we hope we've managed to deliver a great pub. We've given it 9 out of 10 as there are still some finishing touches before the job is complete. Well worth giving The Old Girl a visit.

The Waggon has opened again. It has been refurbished and has been opened up inside to create a large room. There are live bands on Friday and Saturday. Real ale is also served now. The new owners also run the White Horse in Harborne.

A detached Banks's cottage-stlyed pub with a central entrance flanked by bay windows. A victorian pub, it is in undressed brick mostly, with yellow paintwork around the windows, a decorative pediment over the door and moulded stone string course under the eaves.

The interior has a couple of rooms, served by a central bar. The front entrance has a door to the lounge on the left - this room was in darkness at my visit. Ahead was a door for out sales, which was a narrow corridor leading to the bar -i didn't try the door to see if it was open. The bar is through the door to the right. The bar is in white, with a brown ceiling and chimney breast, with a tile flooring. There are red perimenter seats with traditional wood tables, along with a couple of comfy chairs. There is lots of fun ephemera dotted about; horse and other brasses, tea-pots, jugs, dog pictures and a model ship in the corner for example. There is a dart board too. There was a TV, showing some ITV programme and there was no background music. The service was friendly and the clientele, all locals that knew each other, were more mature - they were really friendly and i got a chorus of 'byes' as i left.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter electronic cask and a class pint of Banks's cask MILD on electronic dispenser.

I really enjoyed my stop off here and would happily go back at any stage. A good traditional Black Country boozer. Worth popping into for one if that is your scene.
