It's alright is this, an erstwhile roadhouse on a road now doubly bypassed. As JAQPTIO alludes little has changed since at least the seventies, but all the better for that. It was fairly busy even on a midweek afternoon, we sat on the sunny picnic tables out the front, but there are various tents and whathaveyou behind. Bass seems a fixture, we had a drink of the Otter guest which was a nice drink.

There appears to be a curry house arrangement in the evenings, I didn't figure out the setup, but anyway, the best of the three pubs in Meriden, that's if it's a pub you're after rather than something with fancier ideas.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Queen's Head

Traditional pub on the old road between Birmingham and Coventry on the eastern edge of the 'middle of England'. Partly opened-out inside to leave three distinct seating areas with the bar in the centre, a lounge at one end and a dartboard at the other. Plainly furnished and decorated, and frankly looking like it's seen better days. Still, there are four handpumps on the counter, offering M&B Brew XI, Bass (£3.70, and in good form), Adnams Freewheel and Rev James.

Bit of a gem this one.... you'd think the fact its on a superceded road to nowhere would affect trade but it was very busy.

Four ales on - including Bass in fine condition. No nonsense sandwich menu. Great value for money.

Loved it.

Nice old fashioned pub in a rural setting that is not a gastropub. It is a simple, friendly, watering hole.

It had four ales on when I was there, but I can only remember two, Bass and a lovely Adnam's Ghost Ship.

However, I allowed myself to get distracted by the very nice Ansell's Mild. This was my Dad's favourite tipple years ago, and also what I first drank longer ago than I care to remember. I know it can't be the real thing as the Ansell's Brewery is long since defunct.

However, this is a lovely old pub, with a very friendly landlord.

Recommended!
