Handsome building (collection of buildings would be more apt), with half timber framed C17th Cottage extended to add a large chimney at one end and the brick structures at the other. Was a working malthouse at one time - hence the chimney I guess.

Noticed some elderly GBG stickers on the rear door - but dont think they will be troubling it for a while whilst they have keg worthingtons (and possibly cask Doom Bar on).

Nice sunny day, so I played safe with a Staropramen.

Food was quick and good value.

Nice 17th century building in the centre of the village. It's a two room affair, basic public bar and a larger lounge which was laid up for eating when we called. Friendly welcome though a shilling in the gas meter might have helped on a cold afternoon. It's in the current GBG, examples from Purity and Church End guesting, Bombardier appear to be the staple. It was sparely populated when we called, but I suspect it attracts a mature clientele. Well worth a visit.
