Real Ale Ray left this review about The Blue Bell

Very busy in here on our Saturday night visit before heading for the train. The interior was fairly modern and very well kept, service at the bar was ok, once all the twenty somethings got their cocktail orders sorted. Only one ale on handpump which was GK London Glory.

Brainy Pool left this review about The Blue Bell

a modernised open plan town centre pub owned by Greene King but with none of their branding on display. Abbot was the only ale on, I imagine this is usually the case. It looks good from outside but to be honest is a huge disappointment. Very busy of a Saturday afternoon though.

Called by yesterday evening but the real ale choice was uninspiring so I left. Greene King place by the looks of it, and the pumps had printed paper labels instead of proper pump clips.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Blue Bell

Reasonable-looking pub, with various seating areas forming an overall 'L' shape within the partly opened-out interior. Several older features remain, including some wood panelling and a bit of tiling beneath some of the windows. Food offers. Old Speckled Hen and Robinson's Trooper available from two of three handpumps, but for once I opted for the keg Tetley's Dark Mild (just £2.00).

A corner pub the stretches back from the corner entrance. Its not too bad. Handy if you're looking for The Barley Mow which is just up the side street. Real ale is available.

Steve C left this review about The Blue Bell

The Blue Bell is an L shaped pub with seating to the right of the entrance and a bar that stretches up to the rear of the pub. There is also seating along the left hand wall of the pub. Standard draught products are available and the three hand pumps that I spotted were drawing Greene King’s IPA, Bombardier and Old Speckled Hen. Reasonably priced food was advertised, but as my visit was at 21:30 on Saturday night the kitchen was closed. There was a band set up just to the right of the entrance and the pub was very busy, but I didn’t have to wait very long to be served.

I wouldn’t visit this pub again on a Saturday night as I’m not a fan of live music, but I would pop back in at a quieter time.
