Another sizzling "food" pub with Doom Bar and Bombardier on offer. The Bombardier was fine. OK to pop in for one.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Yenton

Substantial roadhouse near the crossroads of two busy main roads. Various seating / dining areas within the partially opened-out interior on three sides of the central servery, with dull semi-modern furniture and decor throughout. Also has some patio tables out front, albeit covered with a dusting of snow when I popped in. Standard Sizzling menu. Pool table. Three of five handpumps in use, with Doom Bar, Bombardier and Proper Job (£3.20) available.

A detached Sizzling chain pub/eatery, with patio area. A 1920/30s pub, built due to large scale housing developments in the surrounding area. It is in a mock-c17th century style; a winged corridor three-storey house in brick and white brick, with dormer windows. The interior has a couple of areas. There is a self-contained bar room at the rear, closed to kids, that has a pool table, dart board and a few TVs that were showing footy. The main room is an open-plan L-shape around the bar. It is in the usual mix of colours and was pretty busy with a mixed clientele that were eating, or waiting to watch a Ska band that was setting-up. I cant say about the service, as it was too crowded to stay; however, they had the usual keg beers, with M&B MILD and Banks's Bitter on handpull, so a pretty straight-forward range.

What to say about the Yenton. Nice pint, Food poor, And possibly the most unfriendly landlord, I've ever come across. The regular's don't come across as friendly either. There are far better pub's nearby.

On major crossroads (B'ham, Sutton, West Bromwich and Castle Bromwich is all directions) Sizzing Co. owned and it was packed on lunchtime with workers waffing away their foods. It was standing only and I only stayed here for around 5 mins. Again, smell of steaks bit too much for me and I decided go outside to get fresh air. Many major bus routes stops right outside.
