Cask Marque accredited. Central bar, with a huge dining room attached to the back. Strangely, the Log burner appeared to be pumping the smoke into the pub.

Beer wise, it was a bit uninspired, with just the staples of Doom Bar and Golden Hen available. The Doom Bar was in excellent condition.

This is a detached pub, with patio, beer garden and kid's play areas, along with animals (donkeys). It is a lengthy and what looks like a Victorian build, that has been extended over time. It is in white painted brick, with an array of different styled and sized windows, with a porch and roof coping. The interior is irregular in shape, and pretty much now open-plan around an island of a serving bar. The décor is one of white and brick, with a white and beam ceiling and a stone flag floor. There is a nice brick fire that had a fire roaring - much needed on the day. I didn't see a TV and the music was general and at a decent level. The walls had some old photos on and there were a few jugs and ornaments. There is an area for pool and darts. They do food, but I cannot comment on that. The service was very friendly and a few locals seemed to be in. Beer; usual tap stuff, with Doombar, Old Spekky Hen and a pleasant Pin-up Red Head. There was also a real cider, Cornish Farmhouse, which I tried for a change and was also decent. A really nice pub, sadly perhaps a little opened-out for my personal taste, but still one to visit - especially with the family.

Bigger on the inside than it looks there is also a large garden and car park backing onto the railway.

The garden is quite bare & needs a bit of work, but the inside is a lot better. A large space split with screens actually makes a difference from what you would find if taken over by a big chain. Its not confortable as such, its all solid floor, wood chairs & tables but its a traditional unspoilt country inn with beams and wood around.

Menu is short & sweet and there are two real ales of average quality. Seems popular enough.

Sort of place that needs to be used as it shouldn't be lost

Hi, My name is Rob. Myself and my partner Jennie are taking over this public house in early September. We are hoping we can turn it back to the traditional country pub it once use to be. We are a couple in our early 30's with extensive experience in country locals, and we hope that you welcome us all to your area.
We are open to ideas and really want to make this a traditinal village local for people of all ages.
You got a chairty event no where to hold talk to us?
The 2 charites the pub will be supporting throughtout the time we are there hopefully many mnay years, will be the air ambulance and the life boats.
We have an 8 yr old daughter and a 88 year ild gran and want to and intend to include these within the pub.
come and vi
