A detached Victorian corner pub. The pub is predominantly in brick, with a white painted lower pilastered frontage. The old corner entrance is blocked, but it still has nice leaded windows. The interior has a single L-shaped room, which is in white and red, with a red ceiling and a lino floor. The serving bar is of wood and red tiles. There is a pool table and a dart board (difficult to play - and somewhat worn). The TV had a soap on (with sound) and easy music was coming from the jukebox at a decent level. The walls has sporting prints (mainly horsey) and a few pots and a miner's lamp were dotted about. The service was friendly, as were the few mature locals that were in. Tidy, newly covered brown perimeter seats and general tables and stools allowed you to take the weight off your feet. Beer; no real ale, just the usual tap stuff with M&B MILD - which was decent enough. A more tidy place than you would imagine from the outside. A nice locals pub, just nothing for the real ale fan.

This pub is a lovely quiet pub, with excellent service. Although no food is served there is excellent entertainment
