Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hobsons Choice

Block-like estate pub (now called in Hobsons Choice again) in a dismal little parade of shuttered shops, and initially seeming closed down as all the curtains on the two-storey lounge side were drawn. However, lights were on in the public bar so I ventured inside to find a simply furnished and plainly decorated room dominated by a pool table but also having plenty of space for the dartboard. No real ale, of course, do went for the keg M&B mild which didn't break the bank at £2.60. Having said that, I would add that while one might hesitate entering a place like this as a rare and random stranger, I found the landlady welcoming and regulars friendly, so my visit exceeded my (admittedly low) expectations considerably.

Soup Dragon left this review about Hobsons Choice

This is a detached modern estate pub in a small shopping parade. Formerly the Hobson's Choice, it is now a Hairy Lemon. It is in dull, brown brick, with a 'house' area and lower level extension. Strangely, whilst it is pretty brutal architecturally, there is something in the design and colour that remind me of Kenilworth Castle keep! The interior has a couple of rooms, but the lounge was closed off, i think. The bar has a dart board and pool table, with a TV that was showing something off History TV _ now normally I would be pleased, but this tripe about American 'gator killers actually made Eastenders watchable and realistic. The decor of the pub is grey, with white ceiling and laminate floor, with yellow around a couple of black and white generic photos and yellow baize on the pool table. The service was friendly and a few locals were in, one friendly enough to chat about the lamentable offering form History TV. Beer; there was a real ale pull with a Doombar clip, but this wasnt on, so general keg taps with a decent enough M&B MILD. It seemed friendly enough to me, but nothing for a real ale fan.
