Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Golden Hind

Substantial roadhouse, deep in suburbia but on the road to Kingstanding, and now a Marston's house. Being sat on a corner, it has quite attractive Tudorbethan facades on two sides, and the interior has more interest than most outlets of this type. Two separate bars remain, a large lounge (with a popular pub quiz underway) and a smaller public bar, both refurbished in a reasonably traditional way. Banks's Mild (£2.70) and Pedigree available from two of the three handpumps on each counter.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Golden Hind

This is a detached, corner Sizzling pub, with patio area. It is a 1930s pub, built as a part of a massive housing expansion in the area. It is in the mock-Tudor look, being in brick with the white and beam upper. Large chimney stacks and ogee doors are a feature. The interior has a couple of rooms. The bar i didn't see, but it had music and TVs (footy) as i could hear it. The lounge is the dining room at the back. It is open-plan, and in the usual mix of colours; yellow, white, claret, turquoise, a strange fleshy colour and patterned paper - was well as wood. It actually looked tidy as a room. The food tables are of course present, but it was after eating time when i visited and the maturer clientele were simply watching the footy on the TV. Lots of old photos are on the walls and there is a small tiled fireplace. The service was friendly and funny - he didn't know the price of a drink as "nobody drinks a half in this pub"! Beer; usual tap stuff with a decent enough M&B MILD. GK IPA and Bombardier were on handpull. A slightly smarter Sizzling pub, but the real ale isn't worth going out your way for.
