Largish Irish themed just on the edge of Digbeth with the interior as Soup Dragon describes. Called in around noon on a Thursday and seeing there was no cask on ordered a half of Carling which was unavailable due to the landlord cleaning all the pumps. However in all fairness to the landlord let me have a bottle of Bud for the same price of half of Carling.

A bit different, hidden in the Irish Quarter, an L-shaped main room with distressed masonary walls, well looked after, hanging baskets outside.

There is an outdoor area and 'saloon' as well as a separate smoking area with pool table.

A nicley presented back street pub, round the corner from Highgate Park.

No real ale. Keg Brew 11

A yellow rendered Irish themed pub, with green paintwork and a rear beer garden/patio. Just re-opened, it was formerly the Hen & Chickens.

The interior is open plan around the bar, with a stone flag floor. The decor is mainly green, white and wood panel and has the feel of an Irish cottage interior, despite having a DJ area at the end of the pub! There is an eclectic mix of ephemera and settles and stools for seating. There was a TV area, with Wimbledon on and a pool table. The service was friendly and a few people were in.

Beer; all keg stuff sadly, however there was an excellent Ansells MILD on, which made up for that, especially on such a hot day that many real ales were suffering.

Pleased to see the pub re-open and pleased they still did a MILD. Nothing for the real ale fans, but i am sure i will be popping in more and more.
