Standard pub with good service. I had a Banks's bitter which was fine.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Travellers Rest

A detached 60s looking Banks's pub in exposed brick and white painted facade, with dormer windows and patio area.

The interior has a couple of rooms. As you walk through the main front entrance the lounge faces you. It is in red and cream, carpeted, with blinds on the windows. It has the serving bar to the left and there is a pool table in the middle of the room. The bar room is to the left on entry. It is in white, with black paintwork, some red behind the bar and a crimson and black painted brick chimney breast. The fireplace was blocked. The ceiling is white and the floor is of cream and red tiles. There were a couple of flower pictures on the wall. There is a dart board and the TV was pumping out some charty music channel where everyone is nearly naked. The service was fine the clientele mainly the footy team in the bar and the pool team in the lounge.

Beer; no real ale, all keg with Banks's Bitter and MILD. I had a shandy which was fine.

Nothing for the real ale fan. One for the locals, really.
