A detached cottage-styled Banks’s pub situated on a remote back-street, which is in cream render and has a patio area opposite the pub.

The interior has a couple of rooms. The front door takes you into the bar room, with the curved serving bar ahead and to the left of you. The decor is black and white walls, wood panel and ceiling, with a central support post in the middle of the room and a red tile floor. There is a brick fireplace. There are some trophies dotted about and a few fishing photographs on one wall, as well as some mirrors on another. There was a dart board and a TV, which wasn’t on, with mixed music at a decent level. The lounge is through an arch to the left and it looked to be in cream with prints on the walls, but the lights were out. The service was really friendly and the clientele were mature locals, but what made this place a delight to visit was the fun banter going on between them.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks’s Bitter and a decent Banks’s MILD on handpull

I really liked it here – hidden away, it is a proper pub. I will return without doubt.

Used this pub a couple of times.
Nice and relaxing always a news paper on the bar to read with a pint.
