Steve C left this review about The Racehorse

The Racehorse is a large dry led Everard’s pub with a car park out the front that is overlooked by a conservatory and front terrace. Inside, a central L-shaped bar counter faces seating to the left and right as well as high tables and bifold doors to the front that open onto the terrace with picnic tables. Premium keg is available alongside Carling, but only two of the five hand pumps were in operation drawing Tiger and Green Hop 23. The service was painfully slow with the two barman both serving a couple in front of me who I think were enquiring about the contents of every meal on the menu. When they finally decided on something it was out of stock. No idea why one of the staff couldn’t have peeled off to serve me, and there was no apology for the five minute wait. This is a food pub, and I’m not surprised it closes early every night.

Large Everards pub, set back from the main road and predictably near the racecourse. Mainly serves as a standard pub food outlet for families. Décor a little tired in places though there’s plenty of equine prints and ephemera knocking about. Big seller is the sun-trap front balcony and conservatory. Pool table spotted. Toilets not great, expected better given it had only been open 20 minutes. Si x pumps but shockingly just a single - and pretty pedestrian - Everards Tiger. Coasting off the back of the racing crowd and best left to them, in my view.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Racehorse

Substantial older building, set back from the main road by a sizeable car park, with a more modern conservatory-style front extension. Various seating and dining areas around the central bar, all with semi-traditional furniture. Pool table in one corner. Large model racehorse at the front in addition to the traditional pub sign. An Everard's pub, but just Tiger and the seasonal Blue Boar 'amber honey & mead ale' (£3.50) available from two banks of three handpumps when I stopped by
