Real Ale Ray left this review about The Oak

A good pub this one, as you are made to feel welcome. The manager was chatty and had a good sense of humour. The pub is well supported by its local regulars, who were also friendly. Four ales on, I went for the Bishops Farewell and the Oak bitter.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Oak

A small, narrow terraced pub looking seemingly lost amongst its neighbouring shops, in white render with black paintwork. It has a patio at the back.

The interior, not amazingly, consisted of a single long narrow room, with the bar area further up from the entrance. The decor was white artex and wood panel and there were lots of traditional trappings, like photos of Warwick and the pub, as well as prints of paintings. There was a dart board, pool table and Sky TV, showing Cheltenham races - well it is a racing town! The service was fine, the clientele mixed friendly enough regulars it seemed.

Beer; tap stuff, with Loddon Brewery's Hoppit and Ferryman on handpull, both of which were fine. There was also the untried Fullers ESB, Hook Norton Old Hookey and the house Oak Bitter.

A great little place and worthy of its GBG 2010 status. I would love to revisit
