Real Ale Ray left this review about The Victoria Works

This was a destination pub for us and it certainly didn't let us down. The pub is home to Weatheroaks Brewery, they used to brew the beer across the road until recently, where they now brew in the cellar. The pub is traditional in décor, with cream painted walls and all the timber painted black, including the bar area. The front room had a couple of bays to sit in and a lit coal fire on this visit. Also, there was a lounge area to the rear and a function room.
There was an extensive collection of Camra Beer Guides, displayed on a shelf above the fireplace. There was also some hops hanging above the bar and a display of pump clips along the back bar. There were seven Weatheroak ales on pump and 1 cider. Prices here were also good at £2.75 a pint. We were planning on staying for an hour and ended up staying two, as the beer was so good. The beers tried were, Victoria Works, Keystone Hops, Redwood, Bees Knees, Weatheroak bitter and an extremely good St Udley Mild.
The bar staff were friendly and welcoming and so too was the owner, who was the head brewer. The pub opens at 4pm on a Monday and 12pm the rest of the week. They also serve lunch 12-2.
