Steve C left this review about The Queens Head

The Queen’s Head has an L-shaped bar area to the right and dartboard to the left that is separated from the bar by a exposed brick chimney breast and a couple of supporting pillars. Televisions throughout were showing muted football whilst the jukebox played. The bar supports four handpumps that were drawing TT Landlord, Purity Gold, Dark Star’s Hophead and Weston’s Old Rosie Cider. Standard keg was also available alongside Birra Moretti, Heineken and some Smirnoff cocktails on tap. The service was polite and I found the down to earth locals to be a breath of fresh air, even if the pub itself is a bit basic.

The layout remains as described by others, below. The garden is covered and paved, and the door was open meaning that excessive amounts of smoke were blowing in, most of it generated by one individual who was also driving his mobility scooter at excessive speed through the bar at times. Overall, the locals were not a friendly or sociable bunch, which made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been. The staff were welcoming enough, though, so it wasn’t all bad. Ales on were Landlord, Doombar and Butty Bach, the latter being past its best. It’s OK for what it is, but there are better pubs in the area.

Decent pub which had made a real effort with the Halloween decorations. 3 beers on including Hobson's Best which was fine. I liked this pub and would happily call again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Queens Head

Old inn, given a semi-modern makeover so less interesting inside than one might expect. Opened out at some stage to leave a 'L'-shaped bar with further tables on a narrow strip behind one of the original walls. Also has a rear patio area. Doom Bar, London Pride and Wadworth 6X (£3.80) available from three of four handpumps when I visited.

First decent pint on the 4th pub visited.

Lovely pub - great jukebox and real punters. Nice little patio out the back.

Would definitely come back.

Another dump, across the road from the Cross Keys. The interior is run down and scruffy. One handpump serving up London Pride. The landlord communicates by grunting.

Nice looking pub from the outside, somewhat ripped out on the inside. 4 handpumps on the bar, all 4 pumpclips turned round. When asked the landlady said "We had a really big do on in here on Friday so we sold out", this was on a Tuesday. I said "Couldn't you have got an emergency delivery?". She looked at me as if I was mad. We left.
