Wonderfully old school and worth a visit for that alone, you enter this good looking stone building into a square lounge but the best part is the stone floored tap room up some stairs in the middle of the pub ,still with a lot of original panelling and its own bar access.A rear conservatory houses the restaurant which is generally accessed from the car park so there is a distinct split in usage for the building and the friendly villagers use the lounge as their regular drinking hole.
Only one real ale is available, the somewhat dull Hobsons Best Bitter (OK condition,£2.90) and I didnt sample the food but certainly encountered the cooking oil smells, another experience more common 30 years ago.If you like time warp pubs, this place will suit you well.

A stark contrast to the other nearby pub this is a rather basic rustic pub that has probably not changed much in many a year, but its fine to have a drink here and relax. Hobsons bitter helps too, though the quality was slighlty off on my visit
