Strongers . left this review about The Coach House

The Coach House has an island bar just to the right of the entrance where premium keg can be purchased alongside Carling. Two of the three handpumps were in operation drawing Davenport Vanilla Porter and Gold Ale. In the left is open plan seating that is split from the bar area by a doughnut pillar with a bust of the bard in the middle. In the front right is a seating area that had Racing TV on, as did another larger TV on the rear wall. These were muted in favour of some background music and regular live music is advertised. The staff were polite and the locals were friendly enough so I’d pop back in if passing.

Decent pub with 2 Davenports beers on - Imperial IPA and a stout. The IPA was OK.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lamplighter

Beside the market place, this appears to be a locals pub (judging by the accents on a Saturday lunchtime). Obviously quite an old building, but the interior has been fully opened out to leave a staple-shaped bar. Unfussy furniture and decor. Rear patio beer garden. Beer-wise, I found two from Davenports: Original bitter (£3.15) and Imperial IPA from two of three handpumps.

From the outside and from the name you would think that this is a wine bar, but it isn’t. Once inside it’s a fairly basic boozer with slightly worn red seating and loads of dining tables. The reason for this becomes obvious when you spot the sign that says 2 meals for £4.95!!!! Most people were dining and what they got for the price looked great. The group of guys in overalls in front of us had liver, onions, mash and peas and they got huge platefuls. Can’t comment about the taste as we didn’t eat here, but everyone seemed to be enjoying it. 6 handpumps on the bar doubling up with Banks’s Bitter and Original plus Hobgoblin. A pint of Hobgoblin and a 175 ml wine was £4.50 in here. Compare that to the White Swan across the road at £7.10. The Hobgoblin was a good pint as well. It’s a friendly bar with a buzzy feel about it, we liked it.
