My first Donnington pub on my camping trip in this area. I first went around town to take some photos, and this is a good looking building with bay windows two storeys high. After walking round for a bit I found myself at the back of the pub and made my way through to the bar. (There is also a garden bar - not much of a garden, and the bar was not open in the afternoon when I was here.) At the front there are two rooms with six hand pumps altogether, a couple of ciders and two Donnington beers, SBA and Cotswold Gold. The SBA was ok (NBSS 2.5) and I enjoyed a little of the banter among some regulars in the short time it took me to drink my half.

Good grief - after 6 months, this website is back up and running. Wha's changed?

Donnington Ales Pub - stocking all their range. Lots of people don't like their beer but there was nothing wrong at all with my Cotswold Gold (£3).

Pleasant pub - with central bar dividing a sports bar on one side and a lounge on the other.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The White Bear

Substantial High Street inn, retaining a two-bar layout featuring a busy public bar (with a sports TV, music, etc.) plus a larger and more sedate lounge then a further dining area beyond. Mix of the traditional and modern in terms of furniture and decor in a way that works quite well. As a Donnington Brewery house, BB (£3.00), SBA and Gold are available from three of six handpumps.

The White Bear is a nice looking pub that is situated in the middle of Shipston on Stour.
Once inside the pub had two seperate rooms with a bar to the right,we went in this room but there were no pumps on the bar so we went into the lounge to the left which had real ales on.
The lounge was a fairly long room which ran to the rear of the pub,the room was carpeted and had normal tables and chairs, there was a TV at the far end of the room showing rugby.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Ilkley Mary Jane which was a decent drink but a bit too hoppy for my liking, the other beers were Marstons EPA and Adnams bitter.
The pub was fairly busy on our Saturday afternoon visit and had a decent enough atmosphere.
