Real Ale Ray left this review about The Squirrel Inn

This really is a good pub and well worth a visit. The landlady was friendly, chatty and had a great sense of humour. The interior of the pub is traditional in deco and consisted of one long narrow room with the bar servery half way along on the left. There were four ales on handpump and two ciders. I went for the Growler Brewery Augustinian and the Dowthorpe Brewery Legion. This is a good pub if you like good conversation with other drinkers.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Squirrel Inn

A detached quirky 18th century pub that looks like a few old cottages shunted together, as it is built on a curve. The pub is in a pink painted brick, with a black foundation level - apart from the Union flags at one end. The interior is one long room, also obviously curved. The decor is a white and toffee kind of mix, with a low white ceiling and a tiled floor from a 1970s Co-op. At one end, there is a piano, which supports a TV (showing horse racing) abd a sofa and at the other, a dart board - a few well used tables, stools and perimeter seating is in between. A few mixed photos are on the walls. There was no music. The service was brilliant and a few locals were in. Beer; usual tap stuff with Single Hop Amarillo, Peddigree and a decent Jennings Bitter on handpull. I loved this pub; a great little place, a nice beer and really friendly service. I would happily return.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Squirrel Inn

Small pub, curiously shaped like one of those cut-off wedges of cheese sold in supermarkets. The landlord offered a pleasant welcome, and later on the landlady offered the sort of farewell that sounded like she actually meant it rather than just reciting the company script. Anyway, three real ales on - two from Jennings (which must have got out just before the brewery was flooded) and a tasty pint of Legend from the local Dowbridge Brewery (apparently located somewhere just across the border in Leicestershire).
