Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The London House

Basic, no-nonsense town centre Marstons pub and (small) music venue. Quite a plain frontage to this Marston's house, but the interior has an unexpectedly irregular shape. Fairly plainly decorated, except for the built-in gantry above each side of the counter which has some decorative glass. Functional furniture around the bar and slightly raised seating area in one corner. The two banks of three handpumps would be quite impressive, except they were all clipped for Saddle Tank (£2.60)...

A cracking little place that is very much a fan of ska music of the late 70s and early 80s. Its an open plan place thats sort of U-shaped. Lots of ska memorabilia dotted around, so if you know your Specials, Beat, Selector stuff you'll get it. Sadly there are 4 handpumps on the bar but only 1 ale on, which apparently was their 'own' beer. Despite that I liked it.

A very long established Marstons house which has, over the years, had periods of serving very decent Pedigree.
The focus is very much on music with the walls adorned with posters and memorabilia most of which reference ska and reggae which makes for an interesting interior. Also worth noting the table football and pinball machine.
As mentioned, it does have something of a local feel and we fell into conversation almost immediately. The crowd may look slightly rough around the edges but they are friendly and welcoming. Never judge a book...
Six handpumps all had Hobgoblin clips on and the locals explained that the landlord doesn't have a choice in what he is supplied by Marstons.
It's a characterful spot let down by it's beer.

The London House is a decent enough looking pub from the outside.
Once inside there is a single iregular shaped room the bar was on the left side, there is a small raised area to the front right, comfy bench seating to the right, there was a couple of tall tables and chairs in the middle, plus some more bench seating to the rear left.
The pub is a Marstons tied house, there were 6 unclipped pumps on the bar,i had a drink of Pedigree smooth which was served through a keg Banks's bitter box with a hand written notice saying it was Pedigree smooth, this drink was pretty crap.
The pub was fairly busy with a roughish crowd on my Saturday afternoon visit.
This pub was a big let down in my opinion.
