Nick Davies left this review about The White Lion
A large half-timbered 16th century pub which in the last century morphed into a roadhouse and remains a popular run out from Leamington. It suffered badly in a fire in 2006, so any 16th centuryness is imagined, but it retains a multi-roomed, split level layout.
It's a GK lease, recently reopened after a change of management and cosmetic refurb. As usual much emphasis on food ("are you eating with us today?" even at 4pm) and the large drinking area suffers from too many high tables, with some normal height furniture hidden round a corner, bear in mind if you are disabled.
IPA and Abbot, so I stuck to eurofizz, a pint and a half of which plus a packet of cheese and onion came to an ambitious eight quid.
OK for a swift one if you are passing.
