The Puss in Boots has banquettes under the front windows either side of the entrance and a dartboard to the right and a pool table towards the rear. The bar counter faces seating and table skittles in the front left. Televisions are found throughout, but these off in favour of some sporadic background music from the jukebox. Standard and premium keg was available and in the rear lounge bar, where the lights were out, are two hand pumps that were drawing Ossett’s White Rat and TT Landlord. The service was polite, but this pub wasn’t very memorable.

A lovely solid stone building alongside the Macclesfield canal with a few benches outside from where to enjoy the passing boats.
We used the metal staircase from the canal side as we needed that side of the road. The Old Speckled Hen and Ruddles Bitter weren't sufficiently tempting enough to impede progress.
A nice place to enjoy a drink by the canal but I wouldn't rush back for the ale selection.

A good looking building from the outside, situated high above the towpath to the Macclesfield Canal. The two room layout has a vault to the right with a pool table and it's own bar access, while to the left a lounge winds around the rest of the interior with windows overlooking the canal. There is a metal external staircase leading to benches on the canalside,a popular spot in good weather, you are asked to return glasses and crockery to the bar.
I would guess it's owned by a pubco and the unintersting real ale selection from the two handpumps of Old Speckled Hen and Ruddles Bitter probably bears this out.The interior makeover is quite modern and a bit bland.Despite the good location, there are better pub options, especially on the real ale front,as you drift into town.

The Puss in Boots is a stone built pub that is away from the town centre and next to a canal.
I went in a smartish lounge which was quite comfortable and this used to be a Boddingtons tied house there was only one real ale on here this was Boddingtons bitter and this was ok but nothing special, there are some seats outside the pub next to the canal.
