Steve C left this review about The Park Tavern

The Park Tavern has a small seating area to the left of the entrance that was empty during my recent early Monday evening visit. Through to the right is the bar area with seating under the front window and high tables up the right wall faced by the serving counter up the left. At the rear is some raised seating and more seating is found around to the left rear. This is a Bollington Brewery pub so five of the eight hand pumps were drawing their Eastern Night, Long hop, White Nancy, Bollington Best and Oatmeal Stout. SiDa Brewery’s Maxonian and Seacider’s Rhubarb were also available with one pump standing unused. I enjoyed the stout, but the barman made a right meal of pouring my half. I ended up with two glasses, one three quarters full and the other a quarter full. In addition to the cask the back bar supports six fonts for five craft keg and Thatcher’s Cider. There’s also a coffee machine on the back bar and a container full of cakes cakes. The kitchen was closed during my visit so I didn’t spot any menus. Out the back is an enclosed beer yard with picnic tables and benches. There is also a cinema room with screenings on Wednesdays and Sundays from 20:00. I’d not heard of any of the advertised films, reckon they must be a bit niche. This place is worth a look, if only to try the Bollington beer.

Gloomy place, why they think having dimmed lights at 4.30pm on a grey wet January is anyone's guess. Smelt of damp, in contrast to the modern and fairly sterile interior. Five Bollington cask, my Oat Mill Stout was clearly the first of the day with no pull through (NBSS 2). Proper cider for those who like the apple. A few people in, so maybe it’s just me who thought it was naff. GBG'23 - go figure.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Park Tavern

Excellent Bollington Brewery pub located slightly south of the town centre but well worth the walk. Refurbished and partly opened-out bar area to the right-hand side of the entrance, a further seating area at the back and another room (not in regular use?) off to the left. With five of the eight handpumps in operation, I found five of their cask ales (including the Long Hop, £3.90), and also noted six craft keg beers and ciders on the taps on the bar-back.

Can't add much to the descriptions below, but on a Sunday evening the only busier pub we went in was RedWillow. So they must be doing something right. It is a bit of a boring walk out of town, but it's worth the walk. Nicely decorated, especially the raised area. 6 handpumps serving Bollington beer plus a real cider. We ended up having two here and both my pints were in good nick. My only downside was that there were two small children playing on their own at one table, well behaved most of the time, but they both had screaming fits during our stay. Not good and costs them a point.

This is one of three outlets for the Bollington brewery. As noted below it's on the outskirts of Macclesfield but I must have visited it as a Robinson's pub in the days when their pubs were Macclesfield's main attraction.
It's been more than well described below but I was very relieved to find they weren't showing the World Cup on my Tuesday afternoon visit.
The eight hand pumps had one unused and six Bollington Beers. I went for the Eastern Promise (£3.50) which was in reasonably good nick but may have been suffering a bit with the hot weather.
I would definitely return to this one.

It doesn't look much from the outside,a mid terrace building on a busy main road, looking a bit shabby. But once inside it's all change, with a tardis feel and very sophisticated interior design features. There is a seperate room to the left, the bar room to the right, which runs back to a raised area, while to the side at the back is a section with solid wood furniture.Near the bar there is an unright piano painted in a distictive shade of blue, around the raised section local artists have pictures for sale.Film nights are advertised on Thursdays and Sundays, and there is a community feel with lots of hubbub on my Wednesday evening visit.Food is advertised available until 9pm on Thursday to Saturdays, while the presence of a coffee machine indicates that customers are not exclusively male boozers. The bar man sported a trimmed tash.
It serves as a tap for the Bollington Brewery and the 8 handpumps were offering White Nancy,Bollington Best,Dinner Ale,Long Hop,Oat Mill Stout and a very good Eastern Nights IPA.Two pumps were for real cider.
Glad I made the trek out from the town centre,it is well worth a visit and I was impressed by the ale quality.Quite rightly a GBG regular, don't judge a book by it's cover.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Park Tavern

Really enjoyed the Bollington Brewery beer on our visit. There was a choice of 8 handpulled ales, clearly displayed behind the bar. The pub is as Will describes below, added features were the ceiling lamps which were hand crafted from copper piping and an upright piano was opposite the bar.

Will Larter left this review about The Park Tavern

The second pub owned by the Bollington Brewery, this used to be a fairly run-down, in fact rough, town centre pub until refurbished by the new owners. This is a new brewery for me, being on the wrong side of the Pennines, but according to a display in the corridor their first brews were run in 2008 and the eight hand pumps here feature most of their regular range. I had the Best Bitter, which was a good example of this style of beer, pleasingly with no foreign hops.

The bar, in the large room on the right that extends to the rear of the pub, is varnished wood on top with white painted panels below, and these panels are repeated on the walls of this room with dark green painted walls above. Another room to the left, which does not have its own bar access, is white wood panelling throughout, and here and in the corridor are modern works of art on display for sale. Definitely worth another visit to try out others from the Bollington range.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Park Tavern

The Park Tavern is a mid terraced pub that is on a busy road just away from the town centre.
There were a couple of rooms in this Robinsons tied house i went in the bar which was very busy with locals who seemed friendly enough.
There were two Robinsons beers on here i had a drink of Robinsons bitter and this was very nice the other beer was Robinsons mild.
