A friendly town pub with a pleasant, local feel. The young bar staff were welcoming and friendly, the barman seeming well-informed and interested in ale and possessing a good sense of humour. There was a massive TV screen showing live sport, and a huge, complex coffee machine behind the bar which seemed a bit out of place, jarring slightly with the traditional interior. Ales on were Landlord, Moorhouse’s Pride of Pendle and Empress. Craft ales were Neck Oil and Maltsmith, and Inch’s cider, plus the usual megakeg offerings. I liked it here and would happily come back.

The Cricketers is a great pub on the outskirts of the town centre. It's clean and very presentable without the gastropub feel. Indeed, they take their ales seriously here. Also worth mentioning is the food, very well done, and reasonably priced too. I've popped in many a time for a pint and a meal and always enjoyed coming here, there's always been a mixed, friendly crowd which lends itself to a relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be popping in again either en route to the Midlands or when in Leamington itself.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cricketers

Corner pub, partly opened out inside to leave several small seating areas around the central bar. Mix of furniture but the decor is all cricket-related, as you would expect, especially with its connection to John Wisden (as commemorated by a plaque on the front wall), despite now being opposite the bowls club... Four handpumps on the counter, offering the regular offerings from Timothy Taylor (Landlord on this occasion) and Slaughterhouse (Saddleback, £3.60) plus Yubberton Yawnie as a guest and a cider. Worth a stop if in this part of town.

Very busy on our Sunday late afternoon visit. Loads of people eating and every seat taken. There's an interesting small room at the back of the pub with a domed ceiling and comfy sofa facing a big screen TV. Exactly the same beers available on our visit as RAR's. My pint of Slaughterhouse was in good nick and the other half liked the Golden Best. I'd like to visit again when it's not overrun with families with small children, eating. It's a good looking and friendly pub though.

This was another welcoming pub and is well worth a visit. We met the owner and his wife and found them both to be welcoming and chatty. The pub is very well kept and the food going out looked superb. Four handpumps on the bar with three in use on this visit, serving up Slaughterhouse Saddleback, Tim Taylor Landlord and Tim Taylor Golden Best. I went for the TT Golden Best, which was in top notch condition.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Cricketers

A white rendered cottage style corner pub, with extension at back making it a lot bigger than the photo makes it look, with a patio area.

The interior is an L-shaped room around the bar, predominantly in white, with a smaller area further on, in wood panel, where we sat. There were lots of cricket pictures and old photos of the area. The service was fine and the clientele lively locals with a skillful drum beating chap beating a rhythm for what seemed like an Indian stag night, or just a fun time - he just did a couple of tunes if that what you call it - fascinating to watch.

Beer; tap stuff, with a good Otter Ale, Timothy Taylor Landlord and an untried slaughterhouse bitter

A couple of really good ales and something different on the night made this a decent stop off. I would like to pop in again.
