Not really got much of an idea what to file this under.

It is in the Good Beer Guide 2022.
It doesnt do food - although probably looks like it should.
It is a larger than you would think hotel.

A posh bar area, with wooden beams and some comfortable seating in the Window (overlooking Kenilworths oldest pub).

Five cask on - and they were unusual, yet traditional. I went for a Derby Brewing Buckeye Brown Ale - only checked in 6 times on Untappd - the last being in this venue - possibly in the same Wye Valley glass.

No other punters until a couple entered after about 10 mins.

Slightly odd experience.

This is a small bar that amazingly, considering its size has 14 ensuite rooms somewhere at the rear.

The main room is almost square-shaped with the bar at a higher level to the rear. A corridor to the left of the bar leads to the toilets, a courtyard patio and the accommodation, whilst there is a side room also off to the left.

Wye Valley HPA is the regular beer. Their Butty Bach was also on, along with Salopian Shropshire Gold & Acorn Malthouse. I chose the latter and enjoyed it. The barman seemed a bit on the snooty side with me, for some reason, whilst he seemed ok with various accommodation guests who were coming and going. The only other drinkers were two old fellows sat in the window discussing the plight of the Tories and the contents of the day's Telegraph.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Old Bakery

At first glance, you might have this down as a micro-pub, but - whilst the slightly split-level bar is compact - there is a another seating / dining room off to one side and a total of 14 letting rooms somewhere... Busy early on a Wednesday evening, so I took one of the chairs by the counter and took in the calm atmosphere. Surprisingly varied selection of four real ales on handpump: Wye Valley HPA, Pie in the Sky from Old Pie Factory, Slaughterhouse Brewery's Winter Ale (£3.60) and Winter Solstice from North Cotswold.

Pleasant evenings only hotel bar which remains as described by Soup below which continues to attract the more mature locals. In the 2013 GBG with Purity on good form. Should be included on any crawl of the town.

AN EVENING AT THE OLD BAKERY IN KENILWORTH
If you ever find yourself in Kenilworth, in the evening, and fancy a drink, then you should make your way to the old town. Not far from the castle and abbey fields amongst some beautiful old buildings you will find the Old Bakery. A beautifully presented and attractively restored 17th century bakery, it not only encompasses two very nicely presented rooms, but also a very nice modern fourteen room hotel to the rear.
The Old Bakery are involved with Kenilworth Rugby Club and help organise music events, as well as, promoting comedy and Boxing evenings at local clubs.
The Old Bakery has been ever present in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide now for ten years, of which the present owners have had it for six. It holds a very successful ‘Fish and Chip’ night on a Monday evening supplied from Kenilworth’s famous Alfie Grimshaws; a recent finalist in The National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year awards.
I chose a Monday evening for my visit and was met by a very warm welcome. For the beer connoisseur they have four real ales. During my visit Wye Valley Bitter, Millstone Brewery’s Tiger Rut, St Austell ‘s Tribute and Salopian’s Hop Twister but don’t worry if bitter is not your thing as they also do two lager style beers, a nice selection of whiskey and other spirits, some excellent wines and a wide variation of soft drinks.
I ordered Cod and Chips and settled myself down with a pint of the ‘Hop Twister’. As it’s a hotel, which attracts a lot of return business, people to stay from all over the world and tonight was no exception. I got talking first to a couple of men from Germany, then a chap from America and another from Scotland who didn’t work together but had got to know each other through regular visits.
All too soon my food arrived so with a second pint I tucked in. All six tables I could see were occupied with people eating. The food was excellent and one of the nicest pieces of Cod I have had in ages.
All in all, I had a very pleasant evening and would recommend it to anyone. So if you are around Kenilworth pop in, but if your visit is on a Monday arrive early so as to get a table if you intend on having Fish and Chips.

A terraced undressed brick pub and B&B with blue paintwork. It has a patio at back and some seats out front. It is in the GBG 2011.

The interior has a couple of rooms, the main room and a small side room. The decor is very bistro-ish, both rooms being in cream and light green? with a blue patterned carpet, cream ceiling with beams and some beam partitions in the main room that look like there was once a wattle and daub wall there. There are blue seats to all the tables that occupy the rooms. There is a tiled fireplace and mirrors as well as bistro art on the walls and a few cockerel models here and there. There was no TV and easy music was being played at a decent level. The service was very good and the clientele at my visit, mature. It does food, but i didn't eat so can't comment on that.

Beer; Old Bakery Lager and Bitter, with St Austell Tribute and Wye Valley Butty Bach and a class pint of Ludlow Gold on handpull. There were some tap drinks as well.

I am a traditionalist, but this is a really good place to visit despite it being Bistro-ish in style. I wasn't sure when i went in, but was more than sure when i left, that i would go back.

This is not really your traditional pub (in fact the landlady said they prefer to call it a bar) but nonetheless very pleasant. If you're not careful you could walk on by, as there is no pub sign, the name doesn't obviously signify a pub and you can't see in because of the frosted windows. It was very busy on the Friday & Saturday night we visited, with no spare seating. There were three beers on tap and I had a very good pint of Tribute. They also seem to be trialling the range of Thatcher's ciders, as there were three in the 'fridge and a flyer on the tables detailing the whole range and asking for feedback on your favourites. The Gold I had was a bit dissapointing though compared to the draft version I'm used to. Maybe it had been hanging around a while.
We did stay here, so can also recomend it as a B&B. Quiet, newly refurbished rooms (although a little on the small side) and a very good breakfast.

This pub is fantastic. An interesting local pub connected to a very nice hotel. Has wonderful beers. Serves Hook Norton Best and St Austell Tribute as perminant. As well as guests from brewerys like, Cottage, Purity, Church End, Vale to name but 4. Landlord listens to what people like as well as trying new beers all the time. No food is served but on a monday evening the is a Fish and Chip night with early evening deliverys from Alfie Grimshaws fish and chip shop which has to be not only the best in Kenilworth but one of the best for miles around.
