Another nice looking pub with very friendly service. We had the Eagle IPA which was decent. Happy to have called in.

The Cottage Inn is a decent looking pub.
Once inside there is a single room which runs the width of the pub,the room is carpeted and has comfy leather bench seating to the right and yankee type diner tables opposite the bar, there are normal tables and chairs to the left.
The pub is a Charles Wells tied house, there were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Eagle Bitter which was a decent drink, the other beers were Bombardier and St Austell Proper Job.
The pub caters for older customers and was getting geared up for a 70th or 80th birthday party.
This is a proper old type pub run by a proper landlord and lady.
Worth a visit to see how pubs used to be run.

Very pleasant traditional community pub catering for the more mature market. A time traveller from thirty years ago would find everything but the prices reassuringly familiar, from the competently prepared home cooked pub grub menu to the range of beers on offer. Indeed I had a far more satisfying meal here than at one of M&B's fake gastropubs up the road a couple of days earlier.

It's a Well's tied house, so IPA and Bombardier, the nearest you'll get to a guest is Young's Special but all in good form and cheerfully dispensed.

If I lived here I'd be pleased it was on my doorstep. It's well worth including on any visit to the towm.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cottage Inn

A Charles Wells house, now located in a suburban area but looking like a wayside inn (which I guess it once was). Comfortable 'L'-shaped bar and dining area. Offers B&B accommodation. Small beer garden behind car park to rear. Four of the five handpumps were operational, dispensing Eagle IPA, Bombardier (£3.00), Directors and Lees Governor as a guest. Overall, worth a visit if in the area.
