Blue Scrumpy left this review about Clarendon Arms

The Clarendon Arms is a pub with multiple small rooms close to Kenilworth Castle. It was my second stop in the town, as I was unsure of their current opening hours, believing that they closed during the afternoon on weekdays.

I was greeted once inside and directed to a table in the suntrap courtyard at the rear. As usual, I was asked if I had reserved. Whilst I can imagine it would be a good idea to reserve here given the small outdoor area, there was only one other party of 4 present, which made securing a table easy.

Just the solitary real ale is served. But this was Church Farm Harry's Heifer, which was in good condition. With chirpy service and a nice relaxing outdoor space, I struggled to find anything much better in Kenilworth.

Lovely old building in front of the castle, still with split rooms & large car park adjoining. Small sun trap paved area at rear. 5 real ales, average quality

Decent pub with a good choice of 5 ales. Church End Goats Milk, St Austell Tribute, Wye Valley Butty Bach, Hook Norton Old Hooky and Purity Ubu. The Goats Milk was in good shape.

The Clarendon Arms is a nice looking pub that is at the end of a row of quaint looking shops.
Once inside thee is a corridor which leads to the main bar room, there is a small square shaped room to the front, the main bar is in the middle area, this room is oblong shaped and has bench seating and chairs,we sat on the bar stools, there is another room further down which is irregular in shape then the last room to the rear is small and square shaped.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Church End Bad Rabbit which went down very well, the other beers were Warwickshire Best Bitter,Wye Valley Butty Bach,Sharps Atlantic /Doom Bar.
I quite liked this pub it did'nt seem too foody,it was also very busy with all rooms full on our Saturday dinner visit.

Pleasant little pub though possibly too food orientated for many, but a nice spot to enjoy some excellent beer, including top notch Hook Norton. Visitors to the castle will be drawn to the Queen and Castle first but should pass it by and come here if they're looking for somewhere approximating a pub. I would say that on a hot day the cooking smells were invasive; it could do with better ventilation. Well worth including on any tour of the town.

Soup Dragon left this review about Clarendon Arms

A detached Georgian looking cream rendered pub and eatery, with some green paintwork. A part of the Mint Pubs chain, it has bay windows and whilst narrow, it has an extensive extension at the back. There is also a rear patio area.

The interior is in general one long room, though it has separate parts. As you walk in via the front entrance the front room is more for dining and is mainly in red, with coloured front glass and a fireplace. Walking through the pub you then come to a narrow section with the serving bar on the right with some brown perimeter seating opposite. This section is in cream and coffee, with wood floor and white ceiling. There is a TV, which wasn't on and the general music was soft. Further up there is another dinig section, also in cream and coffee with wood floor and white ceiling. There were some landscape pictures on the walls and some old Guinness adverts. The service was fine and the small clientele mixed.

Beer; usual tap stuff, Wye Valley Butty Bach, Church End Vicar's Ruin, a decent Wood Farm Brewery's 1823 MILD and Slaughter House Brewery's

Whilst this is in general more of a dining pub, the beer choice here was excellent and without a doubt i would return here.

Blackthorn _ left this review about Clarendon Arms

A popular pub with three beers on tap, plus Scrumpy Jack & Strongbow cider. Quite extensive, although it's quite narrow in places which means there aren't loads of tables. We were lucky to get somewhere to sit.

Food is pretty good, and reasonably priced. Both our main courses were around £8 and we were very pleased with them.

Tried this pub by chance whilst on holiday nearby. Absolutely first-class throughout. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable setting with dining available on the ground and first floors. Extensive menu and additional board of chef's specials. We both though the range, quality and taste were excellent. So much so, we went back again the next day!!!! And, it was just as good! Strongly recommended to all. Congrats to owners and the chef!
