Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Olde Chequers Inn

Attractive village inn, oddly away from the main road and seemingly much older than most other buildings nearby. Anyway, the L-shaped bar is to the left of the entrance, with a more comfortable lounge on the other side. Further rooms further back, and all traditionally furnished and decorated. The regular Bass (£4.10) was excellent, with Exmoor Pale on the guest ale pump.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Old Chequers Inn

Of the two pubs I tried in Bulkington, I thought this was the better of the two. It's located in the centre of the village and had a couple of lively sections at the front, with a couple of quieter rooms at the rear. With no seats in the front rooms, I ventured to the rear where the landlord was watching TV.

Bass is the regular beer here. The other handpull was dispensing Lister's Battersea Tail Wagger, a dog-themed beer with a percentage going to charity (presumably the Battersea Dogs Home). With a couple of dogs coming in shortly after me, this seems to be a popular place for their owners to swill a beer or two. Note that payment is cash only, unless you're spending £5+.
