I'd say this one is a goner. The place was gutted by fire.

I'd say this was my pub of the night in Alcester. And there is some choice.

8 real ales with shampoo bottles showing the colours along a long bar.

Good whisky and Gin Selection.

Very friendly patrons. Easy to get in a chat when sat at the bar.

Beams very low :-)

I'm so pleased that two of the best pubs in Alcester, have now reopened. The signs are good from our brief visit to The Three Tuns, the interior hasn't altered that much, the character has been retained. There is now an old fashioned juke box with classic songs, but it was silent whilst we were there. It is nice to know that customers have the choice as to whether they want to listen to music. The collection of bottles have gone, in their place are small display shelves in a corner with decorative glass ornaments. There is a small pink chandelier hanging in the same corner, and a dramatic landscape on the wall. These adornments to not detract from the essence of the pub. It's good to see that the old pub sign, has been given pride of place on a wall inside the pub.
There was a group of jovial customers at the bar, they might well be jovail, because there was a good selection of beverages to be had!
The ladies and gents are worth checking out too!

I'm pleased to report that since the last review, very little has changed in this pub apart from the management. They have kept up the very high standards of the previous landlord. The only thing I need to add to the accurate description by the previous reviewer, is an upgrade on the rating. I give The Three Tuns 8 stars because, it is an unspoilt drinking hole. Sometimes that is all that you want.

The second best pub in Alcester, just pipped by the Holly Bush. A very old fashioned single room pub geared to the person who wants a no nonsense drink and chat. No games, no food, no music, no TV, just a down to earth pub with a superb selection of beers and knowledgeable welcoming staff. Up to 8 Real Ales available - mainly local but a couple of Cornish beers on my visit. Sadly no real cider on pump but bottle of 7.2% Hogans is a decent alternative. A frequent winner of the local CAMRA pub of the year (they have an annual running battle with the Holly Bush for the title), they are regulars in the Good Beer Guide. The furnishings are basic with flag stoned floor and low beams although the modern brick bar is an unsympathetic addition and the absence of a fireplace suggests that there have been some quite substantial makeovers over the years. Part of the wall has been exposed to reveal the wattle and daub construction. The shelves and window sills are full of empty bottles and a selection of collectable tankards hang above the bar. The toilets are outside through a yard piled high with empty barrels. Interesting old prints on the wall including some photos including some the town in flood. There are also several certificates on show for their charitable work. A great little pub - thoroughly recommended.
