The Golden Cross is a decent looking ivy covered pub that is situated next to a crossroads just to the south of the village of Ardens Grafton.
Once inside there is a decent sized single room which runs the width of the pub, there is a low beamed ceiling, the seating was wood tables and bare wood chairs, which looked like they came from a church or chapel, plus a settee to the front right.
The pub is a Charles Wells tied house, there were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Purity Gold which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Purity Mad Goose,Charles Wells Eagle Bitter and Bombardier.
Food is available, there is also a garden to the rear.
I quite liked the feel of this pub,one i could stay in for a few drinks.

A very nice country pub with a great restaurant. Also garden, with a covered patio area (2 high quality large parasols with heating)is very good. The real ales are limited mainly to Hook Norton, but a very nice place to visit with a knowledgable and welcoming landlord, Steve. Good for a Sunday drive out for lunch.
