The Brewers Arms has a small split-level seating area in the front right corner under a television that was showing muted Sky Sports News during a recent early midweek evening visit. There is a circular bar counter midway along the right-hand wall and at the rear is more seating as well as a pool table and dartboard. More televisions are found towards the rear, but again these were muted whilst some background music played off the jukebox. The service was friendly, as were the ten or so locals who were generating a good atmosphere. Standard and premium keg was available and the three hand pumps were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar, Ubu Purity and Courage Best, although the latter was off. I liked it in here and would use it if I lived locally.

I do not agree with Stephen Mitchells review been going in the pub the last 4 years with my friends and we have always received a warm welcome and had no problems with trouble or the beer. It is a busy pub and always well controlled by the landlord and landlady so to say the landlord is unwilling to act on anything upsetting his customers is a load of rubbish. There is always plenty of variety of entertainment to suit all ages both male and female.

Used to be a well run, safe pub with a well kept cellar. Lately been invaded by a nasty ned element which the landlord seems unwilling to remove. Shame as the beer is still good particularly the Tetley and guest beers.

When i went in the Brewers Arms it was a fairly basic town pub that was just off the town centre.
There was only one real ale on which was John Smiths bitter and this was a decent drink.
