Bucking Fastard left this review about No 1 Duke Street

A very stylish bar/restaurant through an arched entrance with an exterior terrace for fine weather eating or drinking. You enter into a cafe style area with a small bar,but take the corridor to the left past a fine stone fireplace and bench seating to a much larger island bar with wooden tables, banquettes and high tables around the edges. There are no windows in this section but the quality of the finishes gives it an upmarket feel.
This is predominately somewhere to come to eat,the food is well cooked and the menu interesting with some tapas style dishes, veggie options, fish and stylish mains and interesting puddings. Not cheap but quality. There is a drinks menu and there is nothing stopping you just coming in to sup, however there is table service throughout. The solitary handpump normally offers Redemption Pale, but I was told the brewery had a problem with delivery and London Pride was substituting. There are 9 keg beer choices,my Goose Island IPA seemed the best option, while the bottle selection was from 4 craft beer micros.
I prefer traditional pub atmospheres, but for the more hip this will be an options, especially if you want some decent grub and dont mind shelling out.
