An interesting old wood-boarded building, but the interior has been a bit spoiled by the dead hand of Stonegate corporateness. The fake stone floor is the biggest turn-off, together with the glossy printed menus and point of sale displays round the place, which seems to be a cross between a sports bar and an eating house. One side is highly sports-oriented, with two dartboards and numerous screens, including a row of tables with their own TVs. There are however a few corners you can secrete yourself in and ignore the rest of the pub. Ales on were Sharp's Sea Fury, Ringwood Razorback, Theakston's Lightfoot and the obligatory Doom Bar.

Slatted wood exterior leading to a bar that runs across the front. The ceiling is a bit low, so anyone other 6ft, please duck. A log stove is to the right. Real ales available,I had Tribute, very tasty. Was busy so didn't get a good look around. Warm inside so welcome on a cold day.

The Foresters was the busiest pub I found during my recent Saturday evening crawl around Horley. The interior consists of a bar area that runs across the front of the pub, a raised seating area front right and seating down the left hand side. There are some gaming machines and plasma screens are found throughout. These were showing muted rugby via Sky Sports and there was some background music playing. At the left rear access can be gained to an enclosed paved beer garden that houses some picnic tables, a jumbrella and another plasma screen.

The bar is stocked with standard draught and supports five hand pumps that were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar, Adnams' Bitter and Hogs Back Brewery’s T.E.A. alongside Greene King’s Old Speckled Hen and IPA.

If I was going to plan another crawl of the area I would include this pub, but I wouldn’t make a special trip to revisit.

The only substantial wooden building in the town centre, and therefore a little incongruous in its modern setting, The Forresters has a single, large, u-shaped bar which has a dated decor and a mix of flag and worn carpet floors. It does cheap food along the JDW lines and does "offers" - burger and a beer for a fiver, that kind of thing. There is a tv screen which attracts young and old to watch the football, while there is music in the evenings for the livelier crowd. There were 2 ales on, I had a pint of Harvey's Sussex which was OK, though it was a bit on the cool side. Not really my kind of pub, but nothing wrong with it and it's a reasonable place to meet up in before moving on elsewhere.
