Alan Winfield left this review about The Weyside

The Weyside is a decent looking pub that is close to the River Wey and to the South of Guildford's town centre.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped room which is bare boarded, the bar faces inwards, the seating is normal tables and chairs, there is a room down steps to the rear which had tables set for diners, this are overlooks the River Wey,the seating here is normal tables and chairs, there is an outside seating area which is down more steps, this looked nice as it was next to the river.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Surrey Hills Ranmoor, which went down very well, the other real ales were Surrey Hills Sheer Drop,Youngs Bitter,Youngs Special and Youngs London Gold.
I thought this was a decent pub and worth the short walk from the town centre.

Not a bad place and extremely popular on a warm and sunny day, the large riverside terraced area being choc a block with punters, the kitchen was firing on all cylinders and the food looked and smelt good, albeit of a poncey and expensive nature. The beer too was on the pricey side with a pint of Surrey Hills Ranmore Ale relieving me of £4.40, other beers were Surrey Hills Shere Drop and three from the Young's stable. I actually found this pub better than I was expecting and wouldn't be adverse to a return.

Has now been named back to the Weyside, a much better name than the Boatman. The food is good here, the beer has now been overtaken by the Youngs brewery.

A posh place with a massively overdone pine-modernisation interior that was very sterile. Rear conservatory and decking area was a much better bet, which overlooks the river and park. Two unusual ales available from Tillingbourne, both in good nick. Staff were young, friendly and were exceptionally forgiving when one of our party had a motor malfunction and dropped his pint on the floor, replacing it free of charge. Like the White House it's a pleasant stop if you can bag an outside seat but otherwise it's a bit so-so as a venue. However my visit was good enough to give it a decent score.

This is a split level riverside pub offering good views along the River Wey. The main room has the bar along the front wall facing the road, to be fair this is a rather bland and featureless space with modern neutral décor and little to catch the eye. The adjoining side room however is clearly of age and has feature exposed roof beams and posts and a part stone flagged floor. There are various framed river scenes in here. Down a series of steps from the main bar is a conservatory with river views, this looked to be the preferred choice for diners with most tables full of groups tucking in. I didn't read the menu but the food looked decent quality, a specials chalkboard listed baby lemon sole with sauté new potatoes and salad for £11.75. This area has an upturned boat suspended between ceiling beams plus a set of wall mounted oars.
The real pull here on a warm sunny afternoon is the large decked terrace which directly overlooks the river. This was packed out unsurprisingly on Saturday afternoon.
Beer wise the handpumps had some unexpected offerings with three local beers and no mainstream regulars. Hogs Back TEA, Tillingbourne Hop Troll (£3.60) and Flack Manor Flack Catcher being the choice, a fourth pump is located away from this trio and was reversed, I'm guessing it's separate location may indicate a cider. I didn't see any indication of beers on stillage.
The pub is clearly child friendly, there were a number in, mainly in the dining area and generally well behaved and quiet. Whether this policy extends into the evening I don't know.
Overall a good spot, especially if you are fortunate enough to bag a table on the terrace.

Very good beer at the Boatman and I can recommend drinking a pint of Otter beer beside the river. Good place.
