A reasonably large establishment located on the southbound exit slip road from the A3.

The interior has a number of rooms, seemingly with a focus on diners. There is also plenty of outdoor seating. Accommodation is also available.

Just the two real ales were on. As they were, Doom Bar & Landlord and I would have preferred something more local, I skipped both and opted for a fizzy cider. The landlord was friendly enough. But there was nothing that made this place stand out from the crowd.

Nov 2007 - disappointed. Have eaten here before and the food was good, seems to have gone downhill. Started with the mezze platter for two. Got two pitta breads with humous, a sliced tomato, some olives and dried tomato. Uninspiring to say the least and a complete rip off at £8.25
Main courses were overcooked, piles of bread and vegetables but very mean piece of fish for £16.95.
Wine was luke warm, not properly chilled.
Constantly hassled by some awful waitress who kept saying 'Is everything OK for you there?'
Disappointing experience and I won't be going back.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Squirrel At Hurtmore

Nearly hideous - should be a decent pub, but nothing like as good as it thinks it is! I suppose that the piped music drowns out the noise of the A3, but after a pint you'll want to head for the hills (I suggest the nearby Cyder House in sleepy Shackleford).
