This pub, described as "derelict" in the Mail, was set on fire today at about the same time as the nearby Drum & Monkey. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12464631/Devastating-fires-rip-two-derelict-pubs-Croydon.html

Five locals lined the bar during my recent Thursday afternoon visit to the Windmill. Standard draught was available and the four hand pumps were drawing Harvey’s Best (x2) and Fuller’s London Pride (x2). I opted for half a generic lager, but ended up with a pint. I decided not to mention the error to the friendly barman because I was pretty thirsty after walking up from South End where all the bars seemed to be shut until 17:00 every day. Indian food is available at take-away prices and there is a 10% discount if eaten off premises. On Sundays there is a roast option for the traditionalists.

The modern refurbishment mentioned by the previous reviewer in 2010 is now looking a bit tired and could do with some TLC. I counted two televisions that were showing rolling BBC News and horse racing via Racing UK. Both of these televisions were muted in favour of some random music played by the jukebox. Out the back is a car park and split level beer garden that houses some picnic tables.

This is not a pub I plan to visit again anytime soon.

This is a pleasing traditional pub which has undergone a modern refurbishment, resulting in a local's pub that bears a strong resemblance to a wine bar.
Beer wise, there are plenty of lagers to choose from, but only London Pride and one other (Directors? I forget) on the pumps and the Pride I had wasn't worth going back for.
Large screens show all the main sporting events which would probably be the main reason for me to visit again, as the atmosphere and banter is pretty good when there's a big game on. They also have a small beer patio out near the car park.
