A battered old place that's had a lick of depressing grey and magnolia paint, making the nice old fireplace seem rather incongruous. Three areas, with a sports bar and pool table off to the left. Cricket showing on the TV. One ale, an appley tasting Doom Bar which I secreted when the barmaid was distracted and I made good my escape. The whole place felt depressing and I was the only customer. Get the feeling that this may well be a closure statistic given there’s a pub over the road that is better placed to pick up custom.
