Will Larter left this review about The Sorrel Horse Inn

This thatched and pink- rather than white-washed cottage is a delight. The main bar parlour is a fairly basic room with black and red tiled floor, white walls and beamed ceiling. There's another room for dining but I didn't go that far. In the corner is a tiny bar counter, not much more than a hatch really, and there are just a few keg lager fonts here. Behind are to be seen five beer barrels racked against the back wall. Of these just two were ready: Woodforde Wherry and Cliff Quay Bitter (from a subsidiary of the local Earl Soham brewery), with Earl Soham Victoria waiting to come on. I sampled both beers, which were in good condition and very enjoyable.

There's a bar billiards table right next to the bar, and seating is at fairly basic rustic tables. It's very pleasant, friendly and informal here. I've stayed several times at the camp site in the nearby forest, but only on this latest trip did I make it to Shottisham: it'll be my first port of call next time.
