My Partner and I own this Pub - we reopened Summer 2019 .. We brew our own Craft Beer in our onsite Microbrewery
We usually have 8 fresh beers on tap and 3 craft ciders .. No Lager!
Supurb range of Hoppy IPA's, Wheat Beers, Stouts all made on site
We have a Fish and Chip Van stops out front on a Friday night between 6 - 8 pm .. customers are welcome / encouraged to bring their Fish & Chips into the Pub
Kids welcome with families that are eating (up till 8:30 ish)
The Brewery is called Munson's Brewery - named after a family who lived here, ran the pub and brewed beer in the 1700's ( before Greene King acquisition )

According to Suffolk Camra this pub is due to reopen later this year: "According to the pub's website when viewed in April 2016 (re-checked in December): 'The Chequers is currently closed for a major and extensive renovations and rebuilding repair work involving extensive structural work to the building.' When our roving photographer visited in June 2017, he was told that the pub should be reopening in the next couple of months."

The Chequers is a 400 year old public house in Gazeley, near Newmarket and was purchased from the Greedy King Empire in late 2011 and made a Free House. It has been tastefully renovated internally with most of the original stone walls retained, especially for the snug bar room.
It functions more as a restaurant and social club for the local residents and has restricted opening hours of 6.00pm - 11.00pm on Thursday’s to Sunday’s. The old GK pumps now dispense regional ales although there does seem to be a focus on Adnams. And for my visit alongside Woodford Wherry and Adnams Ghost Ship, Adnams Mosaic Pale Ale was available, which was a new one on me.
A very pleasant stop and I hope the present owners continue to keep this one going for the benefit of the locals

You must find this pub and stop in for a drink. The Chequers is a great village pub, lots of fun friendly people and a great staff. We have been back to this pub numerous times and it has never let us down. Maybe I will see you there some Saturday.
